Geboren 1956 in Kassel, Harry Schröder komponierte für verschiedene Besetzungen im kammermusikalischen und orchestralen Bereich, ebenso für Chor. 1986 gewann er den Kompositionspreis des ORF mit dem Werk contentio für Solo-Violoncello und 8 Streicher. Seine Werke erfuhren Aufführungen in vielen europäischen Ländern, darunter auch die Festivals für Neue Musik in Graz (musikprotokoll) und Zagreb (Europhonia), sowie beim Podium-Festival in Esslingen. Harry Schröder starb am 24. August 2022 in Winnenden. |
Born in 1956 in Kassel (Germany), studied music in Heidelberg, Stuttgart and Graz (conducting and composition), after graduation he worked as a musical assistant at the Graz Opera House, as a piano teacher at the Stuttgart Music School and a contributor to various publishers. He currently teaches at a high school with a focus on music. Harry Schroeder has written for various ensembles in chamber music, orchestra and choir. In 1986, he won the composition prize of the ORF with the work contentio for violoncello and 8 strings. His works have various performances in many European countries, including the Festival of Contemporary Music in Graz (musikprotokoll) and Zagreb (Europhonia), and at the podium Festival in Esslingen. Harry Schroeder died on August 24, 2022 in Winnenden. |
