Zum Werk"Metamorphosis on a Galliard of John Dowland" für Gitarre solo basiert auf Dowlands Lautenstück "Melancholy Galliard". In jedem Satz kommen verschiedene Motive aus der Galliarde zum Einsatz; als Ganzes erklingt sie am Ende des Werks. Die Komposition ist dem griechischen Gitarristen und Lautenisten Stathis Skandalidis gewidmet, dessen Anregungen in der Schlussphase der Komposition dankbar angenommen wurden; er hat ferner den Fingersatz erstellt. (Brian Wright) On the work"Metamorphosis on a Galliard of John Dowland" is based on the Dowland lutepiece "Melancholy Galliard". Each movement is constructed employing different motives from the galliard; the galliard is heard in its entirety at the end of the work. The work is dedicated to the Greek guitarist and lutenist Stathis Skandalidis, whose suggestions in the final stages of the composition were gratefully received; the fingering of the composition was also provided by him.
